Keep Walking.

Many of life's most complex problems can be solved by taking a walk.

A dear friend told me about an experience he had as he studied some scripture stories. Moved, I decided to look at the same stories and see for myself.
Sleep and lack of motivation fought my decision, but I’m glad Heaven doesn’t give up easily on inspiring me to flip open to pages of the Good Word and open my heart to the message that was there for me.
I learned about Enoch, an Old Testament prophet, and how inadequate he felt when God Himself called him to work. God needed a Prophet who could deliver the good news and the hard news and all in between. A prophet to teach others their proper relationship with God and His Son. No small part was to be played, here.
Enoch was not the man for the job, by any standard. He couldn’t lead or speak well. He wasn’t well-liked by those he’d have to conduct. He knew he couldn’t do it.
God’s response in verse 34 of Moses 6 taught me, as God’s word often does.
“Behold my Spirit is upon you, wherefore all thy words will I justify; and the mountains shall flee before you, and the rivers shall turn from their course; and thou shalt abide in me, and I in you; therefore, walk with me.”
Walk with Me - Building Faith in the Lord Together

My name’s Shelbey Noel Townsend. Originally known as the daughter of Greg and Jamie Townsend, I’d like to think I inherited their good looks, speaking skills, and the ability to overthink even the simplest things. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Recently, I found myself with a few other names, and more expectations than my former and simpler charge of ‘being a good kid.’
Teacher, student, sister, colleague, acquaintance, patient- and now friend to you. My life is dotted with goodness and obstacles. I learn a lot during my walk through life.
As you walk here with me, I hope to share daily experiences – monotonous and otherwise, that qualify me for the tasks ahead. I know that walking with others - even just for a moment- has given me needed explanation and direction on countless experiences. Perhaps my path could give you something similar.
Walk with Them - Others' Experiences Enhance Our Own
Others have a story to share, as I have been blessed to realize on several separate occasions.

Understanding our own walks can lead us to some understanding. But oh, how much wisdom and experience we will miss out on believing we have nothing to learn from the experiences of others. I often think the Lord made us different, so all that there is to do can be done, and all that there is to learn can be learned.
If we choose to walk the path alone, we miss the beauty that more than one set of eyes can see.
As I share stories from others, I’d hope your ability to experience this life increases. Using trusted footprints of those gone before, and avoiding dangerous missteps we've witnessed them take, we can make the most of our walk of faith.
Walking alone has had its benefits, but walking with another fulfills far more.
Walk with Him and know the Lord.
God’s instruction to a man unfit for a job to become fit was not overwhelming or complicated.

He didn’t waste time, trying to change Enoch’s mind with compliments or a recounting of all the good he had done in the past. He didn’t recite a resume- accurate or otherwise- illustrating why Enoch was qualified for the job. And He didn’t give him a long to-do list of changes he had to make in order to be qualified for the calling of Prophet.
He simply told him to "walk with me".
As I share eternal truths about the One Who loves each child without hesitance, I hope we become more capable.
Capable of being, doing, saying, learning, performing, and becoming whatever it is we were sent here to do.
The most complicated of life’s responsibilities and the world’s expectations can be solved as we walk this path with Jesus Christ - the same path He's already walked.
If that’s good enough for Enoch, shouldn’t that be good enough for you and me?
Keep Walking.
Thanks for being here. Wherever you currently find yourself on this path of life, please know:
When we learn something new, we should become someone new.
Welcome to Walk With Me, the place where we learn and let the things that we learn change the way that we walk.
I look forward to walking with you.
