Jesus Christ was born a carpenter. Woodworking, carving, building - familiar with the process of taking something rough with a limited purpose and converting it into something more refined, more useful.

I can't help but think that the early carpentry shop Joseph and Jesus worked in was well-kept, intentionally organized. And I doubt there were any unfinished projects lying around for very long.

That attention to detail proved more than just symbolic - He won't leave us unfinished, either. Just ask the ones who know.

Moses Knew a Thing or Two

It must have been tough to be the prophet. Egypt shunned him, Pharaoh wanted to kill him, and even his own people questioned his calling when it seemed the Lord had led them from inner-city bondage to an even stickier situation - pinned between the Red Sea and an angry Egyptian Army. (Exodus 14)

Instead of panic or severe complaint, this invitation was issued:

Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of God.

He won't leave them to perish. And, as it were, He didn't.

Answers to Faith in The Early Days

In response to questions or changes in procedure, early Church leaders often received instruction, always accompanied by something new or something to remember about Who God is.

A beautiful way the Father introduces Himself through scripture is in His Son - Who does a tremendous job at glorifying His Father in all things.

Section 76 taught no differently - Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. But an included line touched my heart, and confirmed my belief:

"[Christ] Who glorifies the Father, and saves all the works of his hands..."

He Who saves - Who finishes - all the works of His hands, is not about to start a line of incomplete works with you.

You are a work of His. He won't neglect to save you.

He Will Save Us All.

I don't know much, but I know this:

After trials, experiences, blessings, and realizations - I want different things today than I did yesterday, or the day before.

I haven't seen a body of water part or a burning bush offer needed direction. But I am different - and can be different. And to me, that's the bigger miracle, anyway.

He hasn't left me unfinished. He hasn't led me here just to leave me here to perish. He has not ever neglected to save me.

And of this I am certain - He won't.
